Here's what I've be up to this week: Photographing a spectacular four-day wedding of a couple that I can not name or post identifying photographs of here on the blog as agreed to in our contract. All I can say is that it has been an incredible week so far with one day of shooting left to go. Stay tuned as the details and pageantry are off the hook.
Heather+David were married today at the Fraser Valley Fishing Lodge near Agassiz, BC. Heather's mother was sick last year and passed away, so when her sisters put their mother's necklace around her all the emotion from the past year surfaced. Despite the melancholy, the day was spectacularly fun for all.
Jaclyn+Judah's wedding was scheduled for Ixtapa, Mexico. The plan changed to New Orleans as the Swine Flu scare escalated. The 'new' wedding was planned in two weeks and included a 'secret' pre-ceremony meet and gift exchange, a traditional Louisiana cake pull, and an emotional, rollicking dance party.
I am in New Orleans, Louisiana this week with Jaclyn and Judah who are getting married here Saturday after changing their Mexican plan. Loving the walking and wandering throughout this historic city where my all-time favourite breakfast joint lives [Slim Goodies] on the same street as one of the coolest men's clothing stores [Vegas]. The tombs in the many historic cemeteries in New Orleans are above ground not because of the high water table. Rather, this was a French/Spanish tradition.
Victoria+Alexey had a beautiful, emotional ceremony in a park here in NYC, then travelled to Queens for an authentic Russian reception complete with go-go dancers, a live band and all the energy and craziness that completes the tradition.
Here in NYC for Victoria+Alexey's wedding. Spent today wandering. Didn't want it to be a photo expedition; just a few snaps.
